Guangzhou International Light Festival 2019
In 2019, the ninth Guangzhou International Light Festival, theme as "auspicious flower city, new color", jointly opened festival with the neighboring cities as "1 + 9 cities-wide linkage". The light festival is designed to exhibit a total of 42 groups of various artworks, which are divided into 10 areas including the main venue and the branch venues. The festival uses light as a medium to fully reproduce the traditional Chinese cultural connotation and the regional historical characteristics of Guangzhou City and its districts, to highlight the new vitality of the old city and to bring out the infinite charm of the auspicious flower city of cloud, mountain, pearl river.
Guangzhou International Light Festival is one of the world's top three light festivals alongside Lyon, France and Sydney, Australia. In 2015, it was selected as one of the major cultural events of UNESCO's International Year of Light.
In the Light Festival 2019, Haixinsha is the main venue, use of "Gong, Shang, Jiao, Zheng, Yu" five tone elements, integrate with light and shadow to interpret China's "beauty of harmony". It’s free open to the general public, millions of citizens and tourists enjoy the culture and fun brought by lighting art. With light and shadow changes, they immersed in the show, feel a different charm of the Flowers City of Guangzhou.
