About the Story
Adapted from The Classic of Mountains and Seas, the opera recounts the tragic legend of Jingwei, daughter of the Flame Emperor, who battles the Sea King to save humanity. After drowning in the struggle, she transforms into a resolute bird, vowing to fill the ocean-a tale of sacrifice and indomitable spirit.
