Regulation and application of stage lighting

The first is to adjust the output voltage and control the intensity of the light by controlling the strong electricity through weak electricity. Because the brightness on the surface of an object is determined by the reflective ability of the surface and the intensity of the illuminating light. For the control of light intensity, under the assumption that the light and color factors are excluded, by adjusting the relative brightness, the scene on the stage can have a sense of hierarchy, the space can be extended to a certain extent, and the stage space can also be flattened; or To make an object appear as it is or lose its originality and regenerate other meanings. While modeling, it also brings a strong "style" feeling to the stage space form. Such as high key, low key and the overall feeling of mid-tones.

Secondly, shadows are another highly expressive factor due to light. Light and shadow complement each other. The inner power of the shadow is sometimes subtle and deep, and sometimes confused and unable to grasp. On theatrical stage, light with strong contrast or a key light with a clear direction of incidence can create strong shadows. Under the thick shadow, you can fall into deep thought, as if there is a powerful force that takes you into the dramatic situation. Under the illumination of scattered light with weak contrast, the shadow will become elegant and blurred, and the shadow will be hazy and difficult to capture. Drop shadows can be said to be special shadows. When a shadow appears in a certain local position of an object, the shape of the object itself will change due to the difference between the darkness and brightness of the shadow, that is, the shadow uses its own modeling power to "subtract" some of the object. Part of the shape has produced interesting changes. And when the shadow exists independently in the stage space, the shadow itself is an undisputed shape. In an empty stage, the actor is outside the stage space of the frame (that is, not in the sight of the audience), and there are only shadows cast by the characters in the picture (whether on the sky, on the film, or on the ground that can be seen with a certain inclination), This kind of picture, which is mainly composed of shadows, often produces unexpected visual impact.

When it comes to the color of light, light color is produced by light of different wavelengths. The color of an object depends on the absorption and reflection of light by the surface of the material. The calculation of light and color on the stage obeys the "addition" rule, which is different from the "subtraction" rule for painting materials. All colors on the stage eventually face the eyes of the audience, so the acceptance and understanding of color varies from person to person. In addition, the differences in these factors of the creators will also lead to differences in the selection of colors in the creation, so from these perspectives, the colors are blurred. It is an irrefutable fact that colors can express things. The grasp and use of color is personalized. But there are certain rules of color itself. Colors have the characteristics of warmth, lightness, purity, etc., each of which has strong expressiveness, and can form a complex contrast and harmonious relationship with each other. But the existence of color always relies on a certain shape, even the indescribable morning fog, which may be because color is always expressed by light and matter. Therefore, color and shape always complement each other. They can expand each other's meanings, and they can also distort and change each other's meanings. Shapes that display intense color give us a surge of energy, perhaps precisely because light participates in the appearance of color in objects.

On the modern drama stage, the unity of light, color and shape is dialectical. According to the needs of today's special plots, light and color can be used to strengthen the shape, or the light and color can be opposed to the shape, so as to express the inner emotions of the characters. But in general, the use of light and color must be in line with the plot and the overall grace of the director, and at the same time, we must continue to improve our self-cultivation, so as to make breakthroughs in the understanding and application of color.
