On the evening of July 1st, the grand premiere of <Nie Er>, a large-scale modern flower lantern opera, captivated audiences in Yuxi, China.
Synopsis: The Musical Revolutionary
<Nie Er> chronicles the life of the iconic Chinese composer, from his youth influenced by progressive ideals to his journey beyond Yunnan, where he joined the revolutionary movement and composed stirring anthems during the anti-Japanese resistance. His most enduring music <The March of the Volunteers>-now China's national anthem-was born from this era.
The opera ingeniously merges Yuxi's local cultural heritage with patriotic education, allowing audiences to experience both the charm of traditional flower lantern art and the profound inspiration of revolutionary history. It's a must-see theatrical masterpiece.
