On the evening of May 16th, the grand modern Lü opera 《Chang Diao You You》, a collaborative theatre production which was co-created by Shandong and Inner Mongolia theatres, premiered successfully at Binzhou Grand Theatre. This play was selected for the 2025 National Art Fund support program, storytelling the poverty alleviation efforts under the Shandong-Inner Mongolia partnership, weaving a poignant tale of solidarity between eastern and western China.
About the Play
Rooted in the real-life story of "Shandong and Inner Mongolia joining hands for prosperity through cattle farming," the opera blends the earthy, melodic tones of Binzhou Lü Opera with the vibrant traditions of Mongolian Khoomei (throat singing), Andaixi dance, and horsehead fiddle music. This cultural dialogue offers audiences a fresh, immersive experience where eastern and western artistic heritage converge.
About the Lighting
Onstage, light transforms into a narrative force-wooden cattle fences materialize through dynamic beams, while the smoke rising from Mongolian yurts dissolves into ethereal mist. To bring this epic narrative to life, the production team selected the advance lighting fixture from DLW Lighting, including the DREAM L1600HP FLAG (1600W LED flagship profile spotlight), DREAM L1400H PLUS (1400W profile lights), and DLW L1240C4 LC (wash light). With high luminosity, precise beam shaping, and professional dimming, these tools crafted layers of visual across five acts-vividly recreating the vast grasslands and the emotional struggles of the poverty-relief journey.
