The modern historical theme of Hunan opera " Wife as you see " was successfully premiered——Dream Lighting praised the spirit of Huxiang who dared to be the first!
On May 30th and 31st, under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, produced by the Propaganda Department of the Changsha Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Film and Television, created and performed by the Changsha Hunan Opera Protection and Inheritance Center and the Changsha Art Creation Research Institute, Changsha Literature The Modern Historical Theme Hunan Opera--" Wife as you see " premiered at the Grand Theater of Meixi Lake International Culture and Art Center, assisted by Art World Federation and Changsha Symphony Orchestra. The repertoire won the "2023 National Art Fund Funding Project and the 2022 Hunan Provincial Cultural and Tourism Funding Project.
The four characters "Wife as you see" are the title of a private letter written by Tan Sitong to his wife Li Run before his death. In the form of epistolary, the play is both eloquent and impassioned, both meticulous and complex. It describes the love of children and daughters of people with lofty ideals in the great era, and the history of the mental journey of boudoir women in the old era towards spiritual liberation and independent personality. Tan Sitong's wife, Li Run, was the first to awaken and liberate herself and realize the self-worth of women among Chinese women in modern history. The play demonstrates the spiritual qualities of Chinese women's independence, self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-improvement. It is full of sincere patriotism, and reflects the Huxiang spirit of worrying about the country and the people and daring to be the first.
